Daniel Sturridge has been the most talked after player in Liverpool after Luis Suarez and this time he was seen helping Lukasz Fabianski to tie his shoelace.

This happened in the recent FA Cup match between Arsenal and Liverpool which Arsenal won 2-1. A goal each from Alex Oxlade Chamberlain in the first half and Lucas Podolski in the second half gave the Gunners a 2 goal lead at the Emirates as they were seeking a revenge after the humiliating 5-1 defeat at Anfield from last week.

Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers has stated that his club will continue charging for the Premier League title and according to him, the squad has enough talent and quality to do it.

"Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea are based around Champions League squads," the Liverpool manager said. "They have been in there religiously and they have got a lot of depth that they can call upon. But if we have the fortune to stay clear of injury and whatnot, I would put our team up against anyone. I would never give up the fight.

LIVERPOOL MISS STURRIDGE

Liverpool’s shocking 3-1 defeat against Hull City saw them dropping points and not being able to clinch a higher position in the Premier League standings as they are slowly getting further away from the table toppers Arsenal.

The defeat not only made them lower their position in the league but also seeing their top goal-scorer Daniel Sturridge picking up and injury that will leave him out of the playing grounds for an estimated time of 8 weeks.

MAKING AN IMPACT

Daniel Sturridge failed to make an impact with his former teams: Manchester City, Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers but the tides are turning in his favor when he took a switch over to Liverpool.

Scoring 18 goals in the 23 appearances he has made with the Liverpool jersey. Not only that but also receiving praise from his attacking partner Luis Suarez.

Regarded as one of the greatest players to have represented Liverpool, Ian Rush has said that he is delighted at the start made by Liverpool especially due to the strike partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. Suarez recently made his return to the first team after a ban of 10 matches from last season.

He has immediately former great partnership with Sturridge, who has been in sensational goalscoring form since the start of the season. Sturridge is currently the top scorer in the division, while Suarez already has three goals to his name. The duo have already combined to devastating effect in some matches.

There has been talk about Sturridge or Suarez winning the Golden Boot at the end of season. Suarez could have won this trophy ahead of Robin van Persie had it not been for the ban in the final few matches of the last season. Rush is confident that either one of them will be capable of winning the Golden Boot. There is a lot of danger of Suarez leaving Liverpool in the summer, but those rumours have been put to bed for the moment.

"They have got a chance. Last year, the two best players in the league were Suarez and Bale. Suarez surprised me with how many he did score, I knew he could make goals, but he had an incredible season. I thought he was superb and he seems to have taken it on again. He has come back from his suspension and started scoring goals again. Sturridge had a great start to the season, scored in the first three or four games," said the former striker, who is regarded as a legend at the club.

Daniel Sturridge backs Liverpool manager

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge believes that the club will soon be challenging for the major trophies. According to the 23 year old England international, manager Brendan Rodgers has defined clearly the beliefs on how football should be played and the player believes that the club will reap the benefits in the years to come. Sturrdige, who scored 11 goals in 16 starts for the Reds since making his move from Chelsea, is itching to help Liverpool mount a challenge for the Premier League title this season.

According to the England international, the philosophy that the manager has and has imbibed on the players, the club should be challenging for honors on all fronts. He mentioned that he thinks the club has a great future ahead of it and the only direction it can go is forward. He stated that the things the club did, before and after his arrival helped deliver some better statistics than the club has had in previous seasons in terms of attacking displays and goals scored.

Daniel Sturridge further mentioned that it is very exciting to be a part of that philosophy and the regime that the manager is trying to form to take the club forward in the future. Sturridge is former youth player of Manchester City who was snapped up by Chelsea but he hardly had any impact at the club and the frequent changing of management has had its effects on the development of the player.

The striker of Liverpool, Daniel Sturridge, has thanked the manager Brendan Rodgers for giving him regular playing chances since his arrival at the club earlier this year.

Sturridge has had a great run this year so far. He has featured for Liverpool in nine matches and has found the back of the net 5 times.

He also scored a goal for his national side England in the world cup qualifying match against San Marino. That was Sturridge’s 1st goal for England.

Talking to the reporters about his recent performances, Sturridge said, “I am really happy with my recent outings. I want to thank Brendan Rodgers for showing faith in me.”

“At Chelsea, I had no difficulty whatsoever. I won a lot of trophies playing for them and I was alright there. But, the reason for me to take a transfer was that I wasn’t fulfilling my personal ambitions there.”

“Now, I feel that my decision to join Liverpool was a great one. I am a regular starter here and I am playing up to my potential.”

“I also have good tuning with my teammates. Everybody in the camp has treated me really well and has made me feel comfortable here. The manager, assistant manager, support staff, everyone has been superb.”

Sturridge signed for Liverpool during the mid season transfer window. The transfer fee paid by Liverpool to Chelsea for buying Sturridge is reported to be close to 12 million Pounds.

Sturridge found the net in his very first match for Liverpool against Mansfield Town. That was a FA Cup match and was played on 6th of January.

Sturridge made his Premier League debut for the Reds against Manchester United and scored a goal in that match too. However, Liverpool lost that match by 1-2.
