Daniel Sturridge inconsistent Selection made Camp Unhappy

Daniel Sturridge has been in and out of the starting line-up over the last few matches.

This is caused some displeasure amongst the player’s camp. In a recent interview, Sturridge openly admitted that he would like to be starting more matches. However, Jurgen Klopp has been dealing in a different manner with the forward.Even though many would accept that Sturridge is the number-one striker in Liverpool’s squad right now, he has started only four out of the last eight games for the Merseyside club. More importantly, Sturridge has been left out of key matches like the Europa League semi-final against Villarreal.

Liverpool came up with a weak performance away from home against the Spanish opponents. Villarreal will be the visitors to Anfield this week and there has been suggestions that Sturridge may be recalled to the starting line-up in a bid to progress to the final. Klopp, though, decided to come up with the waiting game once again. He claimed that he had not yet made a decision on the starting line-up, but confirmed that Sturridge is likely to be involved 100% in the squad at the very least. This may not please the England international enough, as he hopes to get regular football to be in the England squad for the Euro 2016.

"I was waiting for this question. He could be, 100 per cent, but I've made no decision yet about the line-up.In all these thoughts, Daniel Sturridge is absolutely involved. It's a normal result. In Europe, you can lose away. We have thought a lot about our game. We know their strength. Our skills, quality, passion, readiness together with the atmosphere at Anfield, that's what I'm looking for. We know we have 90-something minutes. It's not about being patient, it's about being patient with a clear direction,” said Klopp.
