STURRIDGE ON TRIAL WITH MALLORCA

Daniel Sturridge is on trial with newly promoted Spanish La Liga team Real Mallorca with the aim of earning a contract with the club. England international Sturridge has not been without a club for over a year but that run could end if he impresses Mallorca officials. Daniel Sturridge was given an invitation to train with the team as part of the preparations for the new La Liga season which starts with an home game against Real Betis on August 14.

Mallorca released a statement earlier this week about Daniel Sturridge and the invitation for trial that was extended to him.

Daniel Sturridge has struggled to stay at the top of the football chain since leaving Liverpool two years ago. The Englishman spent more than six years at Anfield before leaving at the end of his contract in 2019. He went on to join Turkish team Trabzonspor on a free transfer. Sturridge ended his Liverpool career as an unused substitute as the Reds sealed the Champions League title by beating Tottenham Hotspur during the 2019 Champions League final.

Sturridge was a fans’ favourite during his time at Liverpool especially in the 2013/14 season when he scored 21 league goals as Liverpool came close to winning the Premier League. In total, Daniel Sturridge scored 31 goals for the Reds that season. The former Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City and Chelsea striker was unable to maintain the form from the 2013/14 campaign as injuries took a toll on him and also reduce his appearances for Liverpool. His last major contribution for Liverpool came in September 2018 when he scored a long range effort to rescue a point for his team via a 1-1 draw at the home of Chelsea. The strike against the Blues earned him the Goal of the Month Award for September 2018.

BEST FEELING IN A DECADE – STURRIDGE

England international Daniel Sturridge is certain that he’s having the best feeling as a person and a footballer in a decade despite his status as a free agent for over a year. Daniel Sturridge has been without a club since he was sacked from his contract with Turkish Super League club Trabzonsporsixteen months ago.

Daniel Sturridge revealed that he’s going through his best feeling in ten years on the High Performance Podcast. The ex-Liverpool striker has not been weighed down by his situation as he said he’s in a good shape similar to when he scored 24 goals for Liverpool in all competitions several years ago.

Sturridge was at Liverpool for almost a decade before he left the club on a free transfer two years ago. The former Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City and Liverpool attacker won the Champions League title in his final season with the Reds before he went on to sign for Trabzonspor as a free agent. He left the Turkish club after six months mainly due to the four-month worldwide ban imposed on him for breaching FA betting regulations.

Daniel Sturridge has been linked with clubs in the MLS (Major League Soccer) since he relocated to Los Angeles as his search for a new club continues. Inter Miami and D. C. United have been linked with a transfer swoop for the Englishman but nothing concrete has come out of those transfer links involving him and the MLS clubs. Daniel Sturridge has moved from England to the United States (US) but that has not stopped the interest in his services from English football.

Sturridge, 31, has been patient with his quest to find a new team amidst the latest comments via the aforementioned podcast that suggested that the player is in a very good shape in the event of a transfer. The Englishman believes he’s ready to hit the ground running in case he gets a new club.
