DANIEL STURRIDGE: INTERNATIONAL CAREER REVEALED

Daniel Sturridge enjoyed a good career for the England national teams after he played for all the major youth teams as well as the senior team. Sturridge played for the England u-16 team, u-17 team, u-18 team, u-19 team, u-20 team and the u-21 team before making his debut for the Three Lions of England in 2006.

Daniel Sturridge enjoyed the most productive spell of his youth career for his country. He scored six goals in five appearances for the England u-16 team. Sturridge enjoyed his second best spell at England youth level for the u-17 team with seven goals in nine games.

Free agent Daniel Sturridge made his debut for the Three Lions of England during the game against Sweden in November 2011 while Italian tactician Fabio Capello was the England manager. The Ex-Chelsea, Manchester City and West Brom player came on for Theo Walcott in the second half of that Sweden game for his Three Lions debut. Daniel Sturridge would go on to score his first goal for his country after he came on for Wayne Rooney in March 2013.

He was one of the goalscorers as England beat San Marino 8-0 away from home in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Sturridge was part of the 23-man England squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in the South American nation of Brazil. He was responsible for the lone England goal in their opening game at the tournament in Brazil. Daniel Sturridge scored the England goal during the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Italy.

He was also part of the England squad to Euro 2016. In total, Daniel Sturridge scored eight goals in 26 games for his country. He has not been with a club for almost a year after his contract with Trabzonspor FC of Turkey was terminated. At the time, he was banned for violating betting rules.

NEWCASTLE OFFERED FREE AGENT ‘DANIEL STURRIDGE’

Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Daniel Sturridge on a free transfer ahead of the final three months of the season.

Daniel Sturridge has been without a club since last year. His last team was Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super League. Daniel Sturridge had his Trabzonspor contract terminated by mutual consent after he was banned for breaching betting rules.

Daniel Sturridge, 31, has surprisingly not been at a club since leaving Trabzonspor in March 2020. He scored seven goals and assisted four more in 16 games for Trabzonspor during his time with the club. According to media portal 90min, Newcastle United were given the chance to sign Daniel Sturridge after star striker Callum Wilson was ruled out of action for at least six months as a result of the injury he picked up in the first half of the recent league game with Southampton at home.

Daniel Sturridge has 26 caps for the England national team and it is still surprising that some of the struggling Premier League teams have not taken a chance on him. Daniel Sturridge guarantees goals which is always in short supply amongst the struggling sides in the Premier League.
