As a result of his regular setbacks, Klopp has opted to stick with Roberto Firmino for the centre-forward duties while Divock Origi has also been preferred ahead of the Englishman at times.

The former Chelsea ace shares a divided opinion among the Reds faithful, and McAteer believes Parc des Princes would be a preferable destination for the marksman. He adds that the deal could still be hampered by Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who could prefer a switch to Paris, should he fail to overcome his recent disappoint over tax allegations.

He told The Mirror: “I have heard West Ham want to sign him, but my personal opinion is that Daniel would thrive at somewhere like PSG. Playing with superstars like Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria would suit his game. In France, he would also be out of the constant spotlight. It could depend on Ronaldo. If he left Madrid, I’m certain he would join PSG – and that would rule out them moving for Sturridge. But, whatever happens, the time is right for Daniel to move.”

Sturridge has two years remaining on his current Liverpool contract, and a move away from Anfield could revive his faltering career which could cost him a place with England ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia. Liverpool would benefit from the services of Sturridge in the Champions League next term, but Klopp appears to have other thoughts as he has intensified the search for a new world-class striker. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kylian Mbappe are among the names propping up the shortlist, but the club are yet to make a formal approach of any sort.

The English attacker has suffered injuries in just about every single club that he has performed in which has significantly hampered his chances of being able to consistently play at a high level for a long period of time and be considered as one of the best strikers in the sport.

During the 2016-17 season of the English Premier League, Daniel Sturridge made a total of 20 appearances but only 7 of those arrived from the 1st team while the 13 rest appearances emerged with Sturridge coming off from the sidelines as a substitute player.

In spite of the ongoing injury issues that Daniel Sturridge has suffered and his substitute role in Anfield, the English player has recently stated that his future is secured with Liverpool as his contract extends until 2019 and Sturridge does want to continue performing with the club that he joined back on January of 2013.

“That is for the club to decide, for myself I am enjoying my football. My job is to go on the pitch and put my best foot forward. There is nothing to discuss really. I have two years left on my deal and I am happy here.” Sturridge said.

Even though Sturridge has no intentions of leaving Anfield anytime soon, there is still a chance of seeing the English footballer making joining another club during the summer transfer window as Liverpool can just decide to release Sturridge if they wanted to but the player himself does not want to make his way out of Anfield despite his 2nd part role in the English Premier League club.
