STURRIDGE BACKS RODGERS

The striker of Liverpool, Daniel Sturridge, has thanked the manager Brendan Rodgers for giving him regular playing chances since his arrival at the club earlier this year.

Sturridge has had a great run this year so far. He has featured for Liverpool in nine matches and has found the back of the net 5 times.

He also scored a goal for his national side England in the world cup qualifying match against San Marino. That was Sturridge’s 1st goal for England.

Talking to the reporters about his recent performances, Sturridge said, “I am really happy with my recent outings. I want to thank Brendan Rodgers for showing faith in me.”

“At Chelsea, I had no difficulty whatsoever. I won a lot of trophies playing for them and I was alright there. But, the reason for me to take a transfer was that I wasn’t fulfilling my personal ambitions there.”

“Now, I feel that my decision to join Liverpool was a great one. I am a regular starter here and I am playing up to my potential.”

“I also have good tuning with my teammates. Everybody in the camp has treated me really well and has made me feel comfortable here. The manager, assistant manager, support staff, everyone has been superb.”

Sturridge signed for Liverpool during the mid season transfer window. The transfer fee paid by Liverpool to Chelsea for buying Sturridge is reported to be close to 12 million Pounds.

Sturridge found the net in his very first match for Liverpool against Mansfield Town. That was a FA Cup match and was played on 6th of January.

Sturridge made his Premier League debut for the Reds against Manchester United and scored a goal in that match too. However, Liverpool lost that match by 1-2.
