Jurgen Klopp says that he is unsure about Fitness of Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he is unsure whether striker Daniel Sturridge will be fit for the opening game against Arsenal.

Liverpool are set for a grand opening to the Premier League as they take on title rivals Arsenal as early as in the first weekend. It is already billed as the best ever opening to a league campaign, but it seems that Klopp will be struggling to field his best starting line-up due to injuries. His counterpart Arsene Wenger is also experiencing similar problems but in the defensive area of the pitch.Klopp says that Sturridge is still touch and go for the opening game against Arsenal.

Since his arrival to Anfield,Klopp has had a patch a relationship with Sturridge. Even though the former Borussia Dortmund manager has been blown away by the goalscoring abilities of the former Chelsea and Manchester City forward, his injury record has been a huge concern.Klopp has openly claimed that Sturridge should learn to avoid niggling injuries and play through the pain barrier if he is to become a true great. After missing the recent friendly games against Mainz and Barcelona due to a new injury problem, Sturridge may not to start against Arsenal.

It has been revealed that the England international has a hip injury.“No idea [Sturridge featuring against Arsenal]. That's a two-word answer! I'm always ready. We played some games that were very good, others that were less good.Barcelona was really good and then we had Mainz, and that is what you need. You have to work and that is all. That is what we are doing. We will be ready for the first game next week, for sure. But if Arsenal was the best game of the season for us, there would be something wrong with the season,” said Klopp.
