Daniel Sturridge backs Liverpool manager

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge believes that the club will soon be challenging for the major trophies. According to the 23 year old England international, manager Brendan Rodgers has defined clearly the beliefs on how football should be played and the player believes that the club will reap the benefits in the years to come. Sturrdige, who scored 11 goals in 16 starts for the Reds since making his move from Chelsea, is itching to help Liverpool mount a challenge for the Premier League title this season.

According to the England international, the philosophy that the manager has and has imbibed on the players, the club should be challenging for honors on all fronts. He mentioned that he thinks the club has a great future ahead of it and the only direction it can go is forward. He stated that the things the club did, before and after his arrival helped deliver some better statistics than the club has had in previous seasons in terms of attacking displays and goals scored.

Daniel Sturridge further mentioned that it is very exciting to be a part of that philosophy and the regime that the manager is trying to form to take the club forward in the future. Sturridge is former youth player of Manchester City who was snapped up by Chelsea but he hardly had any impact at the club and the frequent changing of management has had its effects on the development of the player.

The England man made the move to Liverpool after a protracted transfer saga in January 2013 and according to Daniel Sturridge, the players will be doing everything in their powers to help the club mount a challenge for the title and take the club back to the days of glory it enjoyed in the 1970s and 1980s.
